With all the news noise going on about things like the Madoff (gotta love that name) scandal and the latest spat of rocket-based debates in the middle east over who has the best imaginary friend you may have missed the news about increased volcanic activity in the Yellowstone supercaldera.
Since I am a closet geology fanatic I thought I would post a link to a fairly readable if long article from the USGS on the background of Yellowstone.
